One American Dream?

Traditionally, the American Dream was owning your own home, getting married, having kids and being middle class.  To be successful it meant that you achieved the American Dream.

The phrase “the American Dream” does not have the same meaning to our generation as it did to our parents and grandparents.  Technology has connected us together so success also has a different meaning.  We are now in the age of the individual.  Everyone has a voice, their own views, but does our generation have a common goal?

This blog is set out to hear what our generation has to say.  What does the American Dream actually mean to our generation?  In today’s society is the traditional idea of the “American Dream,” still a goal or has it changed to more of an individual dream?  Can our generation come out of the individualization of the internet to form a societal goal? Should we have one?

What is your American Dream? How have you/ are you achieving it?

Your American Dreams will serve as the story research for a documentary tentatively titled “One American Dream?”, where we set to find the modern day American Dream.
